Ukraine Can Cancel European Cup in 2012

President of the European Football Associations (UEFA) Michel Platini suggests that Poland may be the host of a single European Cup in 2012. That happens if the national stadium in Ukraine delayed.

Platini, who on Wednesday revealed optimism Poland and Ukraine will host 2012 European Cup, also ward opinion that the German candidate to host the development if the national stadium in Ukraine delayed. The opinion says some football chairmen in Poland.

"Germany (host a European Cup in 2012)? That will only happen if the bulldozer still use the National Stadium in Warsaw in June 2012," said Platini to the daily Dziennik. "But that's not possible. However, the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, is another problem."

"If the city (Kiev) will not build the stadium on time, Euro may be held only in Poland," Platini go.

Last month, Ukraine re-organizing agencies are responsible to build the stadium, hotel, and other infrastructure to speed up preparations after obtaining a warning from UEFA.

Dziennik quoted Platini praised the progress in Poland after he met with the Chairman of the Soccer Association of Poland Grzegorz Lato. Lato own in September stated that Germany may take the position of Ukraine as one of the host 2012 European Cup. more...
