Poland and Ukraine host Euro 2012!

In a shock decision on the organization of Euro 2012, Poland and Ukraine. Living in Eastern Europe in an attempt to beat World Cup holders Italy and the joint bid by Hungary and Croatia to host the 14 th European Championship football.

This decision was in Cardiff, Wales on 18 April 2007 at a meeting of UEFA's Executive Committee.

The head of the Ukrainian FA, Hryphor Surkis said: "This is my main goal of the tournament, both in our country and its people."

There was concern about the Polish proposal, after a corruption scandal that shook the national game, and nearly expelled from Poland at Euro 2008. FIFA President Sepp Blatter, is to eliminate these problems when he said: "Polish [football] Federation resume all the rights and the credibility of the FIFA family ...".

End of lobbying by Poland and Ukraine appears to be a decisive factor in the decision of the new UEFA boss Michel Platini believes that the impact on the tournament in Eastern Europe. Platini said: "Today Poland / Ukraine was elected to the Executive Committee of UEFA to hold the UEFA EURO 2012, and is certainly worthy of winning. Even with a reunion with UEFA the possibility of expanding the European Championships from 24 teams. This will not happen in Poland and Ukraine, but the timetable has been established to conduct research on the possible expansion of the Euro 2016.
